Was Hamid Baloch a Missing Person or a BLA Majeed Brigade Operative Neutralized in Balochistan Operation?

Security forces in Balochistan have neutralized an armed individual identified as Hamid Baloch from  Fitna al-Hindustan, BLA Majeed Brigade during an intelligence-based operation targeting elements of a banned organization operating in the region.

According to security officials, the operation was conducted on the basis of actionable intelligence regarding the presence of armed elements linked to the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), specifically its Majeed Brigade network.

Officials stated that the individual, identified as Hamid Baloch and also known by the alias “Wahid,” was engaged on the ground during the operation and was neutralized after an armed encounter with security personnel. Authorities further described him as an active member associated with the militant network operating against state forces.

Security sources added that the individual was heavily armed at the time of the encounter, and the operation forms part of ongoing intelligence-based efforts aimed at dismantling militant infrastructure in Balochistan.

Following the incident, activist groups including members of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) claimed that Hamid Baloch was a missing person and alleged that he had been abducted prior to the operation. These claims have been rejected by security officials, who maintain that the individual was actively involved in militant activities.

Authorities reiterated that security operations in Balochistan are conducted under established counterterrorism protocols against members of banned organizations, with the objective of restoring peace and stability in the province.

Officials also emphasized the importance of relying on verified and authenticated security sources in conflict-sensitive reporting, particularly in regions affected by long-standing insurgency and competing narratives.
