Security forces engaged in a firefight with Fitna al-Khawarij elements in the Kot Azam and Sheikh Sultan areas of Tank district, resulting in the neutralization of two high-value operatives, while one security personnel embraced martyrdom during the exchange of fire.
According to security sources, the encounter took place during an intelligence-based operation targeting the presence of Fitna al-Khawarij in the region. An intense exchange of fire ensued between security forces and armed operatives.
During the operation, two key Fitna al-Khawarij commanders, identified as Rehman alias Rahmat and Mushtaq, were neutralized on the spot. Both individuals were reportedly involved in multiple acts of terrorism and the targeted killing of innocent civilians.
Security officials confirmed that the neutralized operatives were actively involved in planning and executing various terrorist activities aimed at destabilizing peace and targeting civilian populations in the area.
In the course of the engagement, Constable Jangraiz Khan of the security forces fought with exceptional bravery and laid down his life in the line of duty, embracing martyrdom during the exchange of fire.
Following the operation, security forces secured the area and initiated a comprehensive search and clearance operation to eliminate any remaining Fitna al-Khawarij presence and ensure full area sanitization.
Authorities reaffirmed that sacrifices made by security personnel will not go in vain and that operations against Fitna al-Khawarij will continue with renewed determination until lasting peace is fully restored in the region.
Security officials further emphasized that all elements involved in terrorism, targeted killings, and violence against civilians will be brought to justice through sustained intelligence-based operations.
