In a troubling escalation of militant activity in Balochistan, armed assailants identified as members of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) reportedly intercepted and attacked a convoy of mineral transport trucks along the Quetta–Taftan Highway (N40), abducting four drivers after halting the vehicles near Ahmedwal.
According to initial reports and local sources, the militants forcibly stopped multiple trucks transporting minerals through the strategic highway corridor connecting Quetta to Taftan. During the attack, the assailants punctured the tires of several vehicles, temporarily immobilizing the convoy and creating panic among drivers and transport workers present at the scene.
The attackers subsequently kidnapped four drivers before fleeing the area. Sources confirmed that the abducted individuals belong to the districts of Rahim Yar Khan and Pakpattan in Punjab province. Their identities have not yet been officially disclosed pending notification of their families and ongoing security procedures.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies launched a search and recovery operation shortly after the incident was reported.
