Karak Police and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) have launched a joint search and strike operation in the Teri area of Banda Daud Shah Tehsil, using drone technology to monitor suspected terrorist movement and potential hideouts in difficult mountainous terrain.

During the operation, police teams conducted an extensive search of sensitive and remote mountainous areas, while drones provided aerial surveillance of locations that are difficult to access on the ground.

The drone teams closely monitored suspicious movement and examined potential hideouts, enabling security personnel to maintain surveillance over wider areas during the ground operation.

The use of aerial surveillance is particularly significant in mountainous areas, where rugged terrain and remote locations can provide terrorists with opportunities to conceal themselves and move between hideouts.

The joint operation forms part of continuing counterterrorism efforts in Karak aimed at identifying terrorist networks, disrupting their movement and denying them the ability to establish or maintain hideouts in the district.

Security personnel are continuing surveillance and search activities in the area, with operations focused on detecting suspicious movement and eliminating potential threats before they can translate into attacks.

The combined use of ground search teams and drone-based aerial surveillance also strengthens the ability of law-enforcement agencies to monitor difficult terrain and respond more effectively to emerging terrorist threats.
