Security forces conducted a prompt response operation in the Zlol Khel area of Angoor Adda following cross-border activity by Afghan Taliban, resulting in the destruction of several positions, according to security sources. Officials stated that the swift and alert action by the Pakistan Army successfully foiled attempted infiltration efforts and prevented further escalation along the border region.
Following the reported failure of infiltration attempts, firing incidents were reported from across the border area. As a result, three civilians, including two women, were injured. The injured were immediately shifted to the hospital in Wana for medical treatment, where they are receiving care.
Local sources confirmed that the situation created panic in nearby civilian areas, prompting urgent response measures by security personnel.
Security officials stated that strong retaliatory action was taken in response to the firing, during which multiple opposing posts were targeted and destroyed. Authorities described the response as part of ongoing efforts to secure the border and prevent unauthorized movement across the frontier.
The situation has been linked by security observers to ongoing counterterrorism operations in the region, including efforts referred to as part of broader security initiatives in South Waziristan. Security sources claimed that following unsuccessful infiltration attempts, hostile elements engaged in firing toward civilian areas. These claims have not been independently verified at the time of reporting.
Officials further indicated that such incidents appear to reflect heightened tensions along the border, where sporadic exchanges and security challenges continue to pose risks to local populations.
Residents of the Zlol Khel area strongly condemned the reported firing incident and expressed concern over civilian safety. Community members have called for sustained security measures and effective deterrence to prevent recurrence of such events. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, and further updates are expected as assessments of the incident progress.
