Security Forces, Terrorists Eliminated in Bannu and Khyber, Pakistan's War on Terror and Afghan Taliban's Double Game

Security forces reportedly eliminated a terrorist identified as Qari Rajid, alias Zaid, during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Bara tehsil of Khyber District, security sources said.

The operation was conducted on the basis of intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the area. During the action, security forces engaged the terrorists in an exchange of fire, resulting in the death of Qari Rajid.

The killed terrorist was reportedly known by the alias Zaid. Further details regarding his organisational affiliation and operational role were not immediately available.

The operation comes amid heightened security activity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as security forces and law enforcement agencies continue intelligence-led operations against terrorist networks operating in the province.

In a separate incident reported earlier in Bannu, terrorists had attempted to target civilians in the Sub-Division Wazir area. Bannu Police responded swiftly, cordoned off the area and exchanged fire with the attackers, forcing them to flee. The latest operation in Khyber reflects continued efforts by security forces to track and neutralize terrorists before they can carry out further attacks.

Further details about the Khyber operation, including whether additional terrorists were present at the site, were not immediately available.
