The Pakistan Navy has successfully conducted a test-fire of a locally developed anti-ship missile launched from a naval platform, demonstrating a significant enhancement in the country’s maritime strike capability, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The missile, developed under Pakistan’s indigenous defence technology programme, reportedly engaged and accurately struck its designated target at a long range. Officials confirmed that the system maintained high velocity throughout its flight and exhibited precision targeting capabilities during the test.
The successful launch was witnessed by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, alongside senior scientists and engineers involved in the missile’s development and testing programme. Their presence underscored the collaborative effort between Pakistan Navy personnel and the country’s defence research and engineering institutions.
According to an official statement, the test represents a notable milestone in strengthening Pakistan Navy’s operational readiness and overall deterrence posture. Defence officials described the achievement as a reflection of continued progress in indigenous capability development and technological self-reliance within the maritime defence sector.
The Pakistan Navy has consistently emphasized modernization and indigenous innovation as key pillars of its long-term strategic framework. This latest successful trial is expected to further enhance confidence in the Navy’s ability to safeguard national maritime interests amid evolving regional security dynamics.
