In a deeply emotional video message, the mother of Nasir, alias “Gaidar,” described as a Khawarij commander, has publicly announced her complete disassociation from her son and his activities, while making an urgent appeal for the safety and protection of her remaining family members.
The woman, who identified herself as a resident of the Emerzai area of Bannu Township, stated that her husband, Sher Alam, has been missing for approximately ten months. She identified Nasir, known by the alias “Gaidar,” as her son and said that the family has endured prolonged fear, displacement and hardship because of his association with the Khawarij.
In an emotional declaration, the mother said that she had forgiven her son’s blood and would not seek revenge if the security forces or local peace committees took action against him, including his arrest or killing.
She made it clear that she does not want her son’s actions to place the lives of other members of the family at risk.
The mother unequivocally described her son as having chosen the wrong path and accused him of pursuing violence against the police, Army and members of the public. She appealed to him to abandon the path of violence and declared that religious education or claims of religious commitment could never justify the killing of security personnel or ordinary citizens.
Her statement represents a striking rejection of the Khawarij ideology and its violent methods from within the family itself. She made clear that she does not endorse, support or condone her son’s alleged activities and that the remaining members of the family should not be held responsible for the actions of an individual who, according to her account, has chosen the path of violence.
Describing the family’s ordeal, the woman said they had been living under severe fear for several years and had been unable to return to their area safely. She stated that the family had been forced to remain away from its home and that she had been compelled to seek shelter and assistance from other people.
According to her account, the prolonged pressure and uncertainty had taken a severe emotional and psychological toll on the family. She referred to a recent incident involving another son, saying that he had attempted to take his own life, which ultimately compelled her to come forward publicly. She appealed to the security forces and local peace committees to ensure that the family is provided with a safe place to live and is permitted to rebuild its life without fear.
The mother said that the family does not seek confrontation with anyone and wants only a secure place where its members can live peacefully. She appealed to the authorities to permit the family to return to its area and rebuild even a modest home, saying that they would be deeply grateful for the opportunity to have a roof over their heads and live without fear.
She indicated that the family would be willing to construct even a simple mud house and begin its life again, provided it could do so safely. Her appeal was fundamentally centred on one demand: that family members who have disassociated themselves from Nasir’s Khawarij activities should be allowed to live peacefully and should not be targeted because of his actions.
In one of the strongest portions of her message, the mother declared that she had forgiven her son’s blood and would not seek revenge if the security forces or peace committees took action against him. She said she did not want his Khawarij activities to become a reason for further suffering for her family or the wider community.
She also appealed to Allah to bring an end to the family’s ordeal and expressed the hope that her son would abandon the path of violence.
The mother’s message contains an unequivocal rejection of violence against the state and the public. She accused Nasir alias “Gaidar” of pursuing a violent course against the Army, police and civilians and declared that she could not forgive such conduct.
She stressed that religious knowledge cannot provide justification for attacks against human beings, security personnel or the state. Her statement therefore amounts to both a public declaration of disassociation from the Khawarij and an appeal for an immediate end to violence.
