Motorcycle-Borne Attack Repelled in Sarawan, Three Terrorists Eliminated in Retaliatory Action

Terrorists, Sarawan Operation, Security Forces

At least three terrorists were eliminated during an exchange of fire with security forces in the Sarawan area, where armed assailants riding motorcycles opened fire on a deployed security forces team at a checkpoint, sources confirmed.

Officials said security forces responded immediately to the attack, resulting in a retaliatory operation in which all three attackers were neutralized on the spot. According to initial reports, the engagement took place after the terrorists initiated firing at the security forces’ position.

During the operation, security personnel recovered a significant cache of weapons and equipment from the scene, including three submachine guns (SMGs), two motorcycles, six RPG rounds, and two STOS devices.

Authorities said a search and clearance operation is ongoing in the surrounding area to ensure no further threats remain and to trace any possible accomplices linked to the attack.

In an earlier major counterterrorism development in the same Sarawan sector, security forces had successfully foiled a large-scale terror plot during a precision-based intelligence operation in the Kalay Sarawan area along the Kharan–Basima Road.

In that operation, an armed group comprising an estimated 30 to 35 individuals was intercepted after intelligence indicated plans to establish illegal checkpoints, intimidate local residents, and carry out coordinated attacks. The group reportedly attempted to assert temporary control over the area and used mosque loudspeakers to announce their presence.

Security forces tracked and engaged the group using surveillance support, preventing them from executing their planned objectives. During the engagement, terrorists took shelter in a building and opened fire, prompting a clearance operation in which four terrorists were previously neutralized and several others injured, while a large cache of weapons, explosives, motorcycles, drones, and improvised explosive devices was recovered and destroyed.

Officials said both operations reflect continued intelligence-based efforts to disrupt terrorist networks and prevent attacks before they can be carried out. Security forces reiterated that operations will continue across the region to eliminate remaining elements and maintain stability in Balochistan.
