Armed resistance against the Taliban has intensified in eastern Afghanistan, with clashes reported in Kamadish district of Nuristan and Gurdish in Kunar, adding to the security challenges confronting the Taliban authorities in the region.
According to the information available, the ongoing clashes have resulted in nine Taliban personnel being killed, 11 wounded and nine reported missing. On September 26, approximately 50 Freedom Front fighters launched an attack against Taliban positions in Kamadish, triggering intense fighting in the area.
As the clashes escalated, the Taliban reportedly moved additional personnel from Kunar toward Kamadish in an effort to reinforce its positions and respond to the attacks. Military movements were also observed around Jalalabad, including increased movement of tanks, armoured vehicles, personnel and military trucks, indicating a heightened security posture across parts of eastern Afghanistan.

The fighting from Kamadish toward Kunar has reportedly forced the Taliban to deploy additional personnel and military resources to affected areas.
