Security Forces have intensified counter-terrorism operations across Balochistan, killing more than 71 terrorists in the last 96 hours during intelligence-based operations in Shaban, Ziarat, Nushki and Mand, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The operations were launched following actionable intelligence regarding the presence of terrorist hideouts posing a threat to local communities. Security Forces moved swiftly to identify, engage and clear the militant positions, recovering substantial quantities of weapons, ammunition and explosives during the operations.
According to ISPR, Pakistan’s intelligence agencies identified multiple hideouts of Fitna Al-Khawarij and Fitna Al-Hindustan in the general area of Shaban, District Quetta, which were assessed as posing a threat to the local population. Based on credible intelligence, Security Forces launched a swift operation in Ziarat and surrounding areas on September 21, 2026.
During Operation Shaban, troops engaged the terrorists and cleared multiple hideouts following intense exchanges of fire. As a result of the operation, 33 Indian-sponsored terrorists have been killed so far, while weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the cleared locations.
The operation was further intensified over the subsequent 72 hours, resulting in the elimination of 23 terrorists. Security Forces successfully cleared a substantial area and removed the immediate threat posed by the militant elements to surrounding communities. The clearance operation remains underway as troops continue to conduct systematic searches of the area to ensure that remaining elements and associated infrastructure are identified and neutralized.
In a separate intelligence-based operation conducted on September 25, 2026, in District Nushki, Security Forces effectively engaged a terrorist hideout and killed 11 Indian-sponsored terrorists. In another operation in Mand, Security Forces successfully neutralized six Fitna Al-Hindustan terrorists.
A significant quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered during the operation, further highlighting the extent of the militant infrastructure being targeted by Security Forces. With the successful completion of these operations, more than 71 terrorists have been killed in Operation Shaban and other areas of Balochistan during the last 96 hours, according to ISPR.
The sustained operations represent a major escalation in Pakistan’s efforts to dismantle terrorist networks operating in Balochistan and prevent them from threatening local communities, security personnel and national security installations.
Security Forces have continued to maintain operational pressure across identified militant strongholds, while clearance operations are being conducted to ensure that no surviving elements are able to regroup or re-establish their positions.
During the operations, Security Forces recovered weapons, ammunition and explosives from terrorist hideouts.
The recovery of such material is expected to assist security agencies in tracing the operational capabilities and networks associated with the targeted militant groups. The successful intelligence-based actions also demonstrate the importance of coordinated intelligence gathering, rapid deployment and sustained ground operations in countering terrorist threats.
The ongoing operations form part of Pakistan’s broader counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan. Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies remain engaged in intelligence-based operations aimed at dismantling terrorist infrastructure, disrupting hostile networks and preventing attacks against the civilian population.
The military has reiterated that operations will continue with full resolve until foreign-sponsored and supported terrorist threats are eliminated.
The ongoing clearance operations in Balochistan are being conducted with the objective of restoring and maintaining a secure environment for local communities while ensuring that terrorist elements are denied the opportunity to regroup, reorganize or establish new operational bases.
