Security forces eliminated a terrorist affiliated with Fitna al-Khwarij (FAK) during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Loi Mamond area of Bajaur district, security sources said.

According to the sources, the operation was launched after security forces received credible intelligence regarding the presence and movement of terrorists in the area. Acting swiftly, troops cordoned off the suspected location and conducted a targeted operation.

During the ensuing exchange of fire, one terrorist linked to Fitna al-Khwarij was neutralized. Officials said the operation was carried out with precision to prevent the terrorist from escaping and to minimize any risk to the local population.

Security personnel also launched a search and sanitization operation in and around the area to ensure that no other terrorists or facilitators remained hidden. Weapons, ammunition and other items of operational significance are expected to be recovered during the clearance process, according to preliminary reports.

The latest action is part of the ongoing intelligence-led counterterrorism campaign aimed at dismantling terrorist networks attempting to regroup in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Security forces have intensified such operations in recent weeks, targeting hideouts, facilitators and logistical networks of Fitna al-Khwarij.

Authorities reaffirmed that operations against terrorist elements will continue until all threats to peace and stability are eliminated, while urging residents to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by reporting any suspicious activity.
