Karachi: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), in coordination with a federal intelligence agency, arrested three facilitators linked to the banned group Fitna al-Hindustan during a joint intelligence-based operation.
According to a CTD spokesperson, the arrested individuals were identified as Miandad Baloch, Muhammad Imran, and Rehman alias King. The suspects had reportedly arrived from Balochistan and were involved in facilitating terrorist activities by providing shelter and logistical support.
Officials stated that the arrested terrorists assisted in identifying potential targets and provided motorcycles to support reconnaissance and movement.
One of the suspects, Rehman alias King, was described as a close associate of a terrorist killed in the Jaffar Express attack. The individuals were also reportedly active on social media platforms, promoting anti-Pakistan content linked to Indian channels and accounts associated with the banned outfit.
During the operation, law enforcement agencies recovered three 30-bore pistols and 18 rounds of ammunition, which were allegedly brought from Balochistan to Karachi on instructions from a mastermind directing operations.
Authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing, with further disclosures expected. Joint teams have been formed to trace and apprehend additional network members, facilitators, and target killers linked to the group.
Cases have been registered against the arrested individuals on charges related to illegal possession of weapons.
