Pakistan Rangers (Sindh), through a swift and resolute response, successfully foiled a terrorist attack on one of its operational camps in Karachi, preventing what could have been a major act of terrorism. During the ensuing engagement, three terrorists were neutralized, one injured Afghan terrorist was apprehended, while three brave Rangers personnel embraced martyrdom in the line of duty.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on 27 June, terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy outfit Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (Fitna Al-Hindustan) launched a coordinated attack on a Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) camp in Karachi. The assailants attempted to breach the camp’s security by detonating an explosive device at the main entrance before trying to forcefully penetrate the security perimeter.
Demonstrating exceptional professionalism, courage, and operational readiness, Pakistan Rangers personnel responded immediately with a robust and effective counter-operation. Their timely action successfully thwarted the terrorist assault, resulting in the elimination of three terrorists. Additionally, one injured Afghan terrorist was captured alive during the operation.
During the intense exchange of fire, three valiant Rangers personnel laid down their lives in the defense of the nation, while four other security personnel sustained injuries. Their supreme sacrifice stands as a testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication of Pakistan’s security forces in safeguarding the country’s peace and stability.
ISPR further stated that a comprehensive clearance and search operation is currently underway in the surrounding area to locate and eliminate any remaining terrorist elements. The armed forces and law enforcement agencies remain steadfast in implementing the national counterterrorism strategy under the Azm-e-Istehkam Vision, ensuring that every effort is made to eradicate terrorism from Pakistan.
The military’s media wing reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces will relentlessly pursue and bring to justice all individuals, facilitators, and masterminds responsible for orchestrating this heinous attack. The sacrifices of the martyrs will not go unanswered, and decisive action will continue against all terrorist networks threatening the country’s security.
Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir expressed profound grief and heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs. He paid tribute to the fallen heroes for their extraordinary courage, devotion to duty, and ultimate sacrifice in defense of Pakistan.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif commended the Pakistan Rangers for successfully defeating the malicious designs of the terrorists. He stated that the brave personnel once again demonstrated exceptional professionalism, bravery, and unwavering commitment to protecting the nation.
The Prime Minister further emphasized that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan’s Armed Forces, Rangers, and all law enforcement agencies. He reiterated the government’s unwavering resolve to continue the fight against terrorism with full determination until the complete eradication of this menace.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) camp in Karachi. He paid glowing tribute to the Rangers personnel who embraced martyrdom while defending the nation, describing them as true heroes whose sacrifices further strengthen the nation’s resolve against terrorism.
