According to details, the terrorists did not engage in open confrontation. Instead, they reportedly took positions inside residential neighbourhoods, using homes, rooftops and narrow streets as firing points while turning innocent civilians into human shields.
By embedding themselves within populated areas, the attackers not only targeted security personnel but also placed the lives of local residents in grave danger.
Security forces, responding to protect both themselves and the civilian population, launched retaliatory fire. However, officials say terrorist facilitators and propagandists often exploit such situations by falsely claiming that “security forces opened fire on residential areas,” while ignoring the fact that the initial assault originated from within the locality.

According to security observers, the recent surge in terrorist activity in Bajaur, including cross-border infiltration attempts and shelling following operational failures, is being linked to external backing and facilitation by hostile networks seeking to destabilise the region.
Officials say such incidents are only the tip of the iceberg, with similar cases being reported routinely in different areas where terrorists exploit homes, mosques and other civilian infrastructure to evade direct confrontation while putting ordinary lives at risk.
Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities in their surroundings, warning that silence and inaction allow such threats to spread further.
