Security Forces Turn TTP Commander’s Terror Hub Into Rubble in Explosive Diamer Crackdown

Security forces carried out a targeted operation in the Thorasri area of Tehsil Chilas, District Diamer, Gilgit-Baltistan, demolishing a property allegedly linked to a commander of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The operation was conducted as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts aimed at dismantling networks involved in anti-state activities and ensuring long-term peace and stability in the region. During the action, the house belonging to alleged TTP commander Abdul Hameed was destroyed using controlled explosives after authorities determined that the premises had been used as a hideout and operational hub for hostile elements.

Security officials stated that the location had reportedly served as a shelter and facilitation center for individuals involved in activities against the state. Intelligence assessments indicated that the site was being utilized for planning, coordination, and logistical support linked to militant operations.

The successful execution of the operation reflects the continued resolve of security institutions to deny extremist groups any safe havens across the country. Officials emphasized that no individual or network involved in violence, militancy, or anti-state activities would be allowed to operate with impunity.

Authorities confirmed that the operation was conducted with precision and under strict security protocols to prevent collateral damage and ensure the safety of local residents. A broader search and intelligence-based sweep of the surrounding area was also carried out to identify any additional threats or support networks.

Local sources reported that residents welcomed the operation and expressed support for continued measures aimed at maintaining peace and protecting communities from extremist influence.

Gilgit-Baltistan, owing to its strategic significance and geographical connectivity, remains an important focus in Pakistan’s national security framework. Security agencies continue to intensify intelligence-led operations in sensitive areas to counter attempts by banned organizations to establish operational footholds.

Officials reiterated that Pakistan’s fight against terrorism and violent extremism will continue with full determination and coordination among all state institutions. The sacrifices rendered by security personnel and law enforcement agencies in safeguarding national peace and sovereignty, authorities said, remain a source of national pride and resilience.

The government and security forces reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the lives of citizens and ensuring that every effort is made to preserve stability, law, and order throughout the country.
