In Tank District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, unknown armed assailants carried out a cowardly attack on a government primary school in Kot Gullan, destroying the building with explosives and spreading fear among local residents.
According to police sources, the attackers planted explosive material inside the Government Boys Primary School, which detonated with intensity, causing severe structural damage. The blast triggered panic in the surrounding area as residents awoke to yet another act of terror targeting public infrastructure.
Police and security forces immediately reached the site, cordoned off the area, and launched a search operation to apprehend those responsible. Authorities said the attack appears to be part of a broader pattern of violence aimed at destabilising the region.
Officials suspect the involvement of terrorists linked to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also referred to as Fitna al-Khawarij, a group known for repeatedly targeting educational institutions and public facilities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Security officials reiterated that such attacks are not isolated incidents but part of a systematic campaign against education and development. They emphasized that terrorists are deliberately targeting schools to spread fear, disrupt learning, and undermine the future of local communities.
The incident comes at a time when security forces have recently foiled multiple cross-border infiltration attempts in Bajaur District, North Waziristan District, and Kurram District. According to official sources, several Afghan nationals were identified among the infiltrators, raising serious concerns about the continued use of Afghan soil by terrorists to launch attacks inside Pakistan.
Security analysts believe these infiltration attempts and attacks on civilian infrastructure are interconnected, pointing toward a coordinated effort to escalate instability within the country while undermining ongoing counterterrorism operations.
Authorities have stressed that Pakistan’s response remains firm, with security forces maintaining heightened vigilance along the border and continuing intelligence-based operations to dismantle terrorist networks.
They also emphasized the need for public cooperation, noting that defeating terrorism requires not only military action but also national unity and a collective resolve to reject all forms of extremism.
Because in this evolving threat landscape, every foiled infiltration and every failed attack reinforces one reality, the battle is not just at the borders, but within, where unity remains the strongest line of defence.
