While security forces eliminated 21 terrorists attempting to infiltrate Pakistan from Afghanistan with the intention of carrying out terrorist attacks, residents of North Waziristan marked Pakistan Defence Day by paying tribute to the armed forces for defending the country.
A dignified Defence Day ceremony was held at Miranshah Model School in North Waziristan, bringing together senior civil and military officials, local elders, religious scholars, police personnel, members of the district administration, youth and a large number of students.
The ceremony highlighted the historical significance of Pakistan Defence Day and paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defence of the motherland. Speakers and participants also emphasized national unity, patriotism and the enduring bond between the people and the armed forces.
The event carried particular significance in North Waziristan, where security forces have continued operations against terrorists attempting to exploit the Pakistan-Afghanistan border for infiltration and cross-border terrorism.
The participation of local residents, elders and students reflected their support for the security forces and their rejection of attempts by terrorist groups to destabilize the region.
Students also took part in activities held as part of the Defence Day programme. At the conclusion of the ceremony, prizes were distributed among students who demonstrated outstanding performance.
The ceremony concluded with renewed expressions of national solidarity and a commitment to peace, stability and the defence of Pakistan.
The event in Miranshah came as security forces continued counter-terrorism operations in North Waziristan, demonstrating that while terrorists seek to threaten the region through violence and infiltration, local communities remain committed to education, national unity and standing alongside those defending the country.
