Shehbaz, PM Shehbaz Sharif to India, May 10 Lesson, Maarka-e-Haq, Nuclear Power for Defence

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the enemy will find it almost impossible to forget the “lesson taught on May 10 during Maarka-e-Haq.”

Chairing a federal cabinet meeting, the prime minister said Pakistan’s nuclear capability is a defensive asset and not meant for aggression, adding that the world recognizes Pakistan as a responsible nuclear power.

He said the region had been on the brink of war, but there is now a temporary ceasefire in place, noting that multiple countries have been affected by the regional security situation.

The prime minister said Pakistan has endured extraordinary sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, adding that the nation continues to honor its martyrs and their families for their contributions to national security.

He said all political parties had played a role in making Pakistan a nuclear power, while crediting former prime minister Nawaz Sharif for a key contribution in that process.

PM Shehbaz added that Pakistan must now move towards becoming an economic power, calling it a long and difficult journey that requires collective national effort and resilience, expressing confidence that nations which confront challenges with determination ultimately succeed.
