Pakistan has said that voices emerging in India calling for dialogue are a positive development, expressing hope that the Indian government will respond constructively.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said Pakistan views such signals positively and is open to diplomatic engagement, while clarifying that there is no confirmed knowledge of any track-two or backchannel contacts at this stage.

Separately, Pakistan strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Fateh Khel police check post in Bannu, describing it as a serious act of terrorism against law enforcement personnel.

The spokesperson said that the Afghan chargé d’affaires was summoned and a formal demarche was issued over the incident. According to preliminary assessments, the attack was planned from Afghan territory. Pakistan reiterated its resolve to dismantle terrorist networks and their facilitators operating in the region.

On broader regional diplomacy, the spokesperson said Pakistan is closely monitoring contacts between the United States and China, and that the date of the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to China will be announced once finalized.

Rejecting media reports regarding an alleged Iranian aircraft, the Foreign Office termed the claim misleading and incorrect, stating that the aircraft had arrived in Islamabad for diplomatic and administrative purposes during a ceasefire period.

The spokesperson reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to diplomacy, peace, and constructive engagement across all regional channels, emphasizing dialogue as the preferred path for resolving disputes.

He further said Pakistan remains firmly committed to promoting peace and diplomatic engagement, stressing that sustainable regional stability can only be achieved through sustained dialogue between states.

The spokesperson added that Pakistan continues to play an active and constructive diplomatic role in the region, particularly in the context of Iran–United States tensions, where it has been facilitating communication between relevant parties.

He said the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister has remained in close contact with foreign ministers of multiple countries, including Qatar and Azerbaijan, where discussions focused on regional developments and peace efforts.

He added that Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives were also discussed during engagement with the United Nations’ Special Representative for the Middle East, where its constructive role was acknowledged and appreciated.

According to the Foreign Office, Pakistan has maintained continuous engagement with multiple international partners to promote de-escalation, including contacts with Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Austria, where regional stability and diplomatic coordination were discussed.

The spokesperson said China has also acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic role, particularly in relation to efforts supporting ceasefire stability and continued dialogue-based approaches.

He further noted that Pakistan remains actively engaged in consultations aimed at reducing tensions between Iran and the United States, including maritime and regional security coordination efforts.

The briefing concluded with a reaffirmation that Pakistan will continue to pursue diplomacy, peace, and constructive international engagement across all relevant channels.
