Bannu Gunfight: Three Khawarij Killed as Police Encounter Erupts in Nar Bostan

Three Khawarij were killed during a police encounter in the Nar Bostan area, falling within the jurisdiction of Kakki Police Station, Bannu, according to police sources. The encounter took place when police personnel engaged the Khawarij in an exchange of fire in the area. Following the intense firefight, the bodies of three individuals were recovered from the scene.

According to preliminary information, two of the deceased have been identified as:

  • Kareem Khan, 44, son of Nandar Khan, resident of Naur Bostan.

  • Saadullah, 49, son of Ajab Khan, resident of Naranjib Mai Killa.

The identification process for the third deceased individual is currently underway. Authorities are carrying out the necessary verification and legal procedures to establish the identity and background of the third individual.

Following the encounter, the bodies of all three deceased were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, Bannu, for post-mortem examinations and completion of the required legal formalities. The post-mortem process, along with other forensic and investigative measures, will form part of the official inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the encounter.

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Police has registered a case in connection with the incident and formally launched an investigation. Investigators are examining the circumstances that led to the exchange of fire, while further efforts are being made to establish the identities, backgrounds and activities of the deceased.

Authorities are also expected to examine available evidence from the scene and determine whether the individuals were connected with any wider Khawarij network or previous security incidents in the area.
