Three children were injured when terrorists carried out a quadcopter attack in the Waara Mamund area of Bajaur district, targeting a civilian locality in Shah Tangi, according to local sources.
Officials and eyewitness accounts said the children, identified as Luqman, Fareed, and Talha, were playing outside when an explosive-laden quadcopter dropped its payload in the residential vicinity. The blast caused injuries to all three minors, triggering panic among residents in the area.
The injured children were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where they were provided initial medical treatment. Hospital sources confirmed that their condition is stable, though they remain under observation.
Security sources said the attack reflects a continuing pattern in which terrorist groups operating in the region have increasingly used quadcopter-based improvised explosive devices to target populated areas, including civilian spaces.
The latest incident comes amid a broader pattern of similar attacks reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over recent months, including Bajaur, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Hangu, and other districts, where civilians, including children, have repeatedly been injured or killed in aerial drone-style strikes attributed to terrorist networks.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding responsibility, while security forces have reportedly intensified monitoring and surveillance operations in the surrounding areas following the incident.
