Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Peshawar Police Headquarters on Thursday, where he met the families of 15 police personnel martyred in recent terrorist attack in Bannu and received detailed briefings on security and counterterror operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During the visit, the minister expressed condolences to the families of the fallen officers and paid tribute to their sacrifices, particularly acknowledging the courage of the mothers of the martyrs.

“Your courage and resilience strengthen our resolve even further,” Mohsin Naqvi told the families. “Your brave sons achieved the highest honor of Shahadat by setting an extraordinary example of valor.”

The interior minister later presided over a special briefing on the Counter Terrorism Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where officials informed him about ongoing operations, operational preparedness, and modernization efforts aimed at enhancing counterterror capabilities in the province.

During the briefing, Naqvi praised the professional performance of the CTD and its operations against India-sponsored terrorists, while emphasizing the need for stronger coordination between federal and provincial law-enforcement agencies to further improve the security environment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“CTD Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has carried out highly successful actions against extremist elements,” he said, assuring full federal support to strengthen the department’s operational and technical capabilities.

The minister later visited the Yadgar-e-Shuhada, where he laid floral wreaths and offered ‘fateha’ for the martyrs.

He also inspected the KP Safe Cities Project and visited the Integrated Command and Control Centre, where officials briefed him on the province’s surveillance and monitoring system supported by advanced camera technology.

Senior officials present during the visit included Zulfiqar Hameed, the KP Chief Secretary, IG FC KP North, IG Federal Constabulary, and senior Counter Terrorism Department officials.
