The district administration of Bannu organized a series of sports competitions under the banner of “Bunyan al-Marsoos, Marka-e-Haq,” as part of ongoing nationwide celebrations marking the first anniversary of Pakistan’s military success and national resolve.
The events were attended by Assistant Commissioner Headquarters Allah Nawaz Khan and Lieutenant Colonel Rao as chief guests. A cake-cutting ceremony was held on the occasion, while guests were introduced to participating athletes during the proceedings.
At the conclusion of the competitions, prizes were distributed among players who demonstrated outstanding performance. Traditional turbans were also presented to the distinguished guests as a mark of respect and local cultural hospitality.
Speaking to media representatives, Assistant Commissioner Headquarters Allah Nawaz Khan said the purpose of observing the day was to commemorate what he described as a decisive victory achieved by the Pakistan Army one year earlier through professionalism, strength, and operational capability against a hostile adversary.
He stated that the success reflected national unity, adding that when the public, the armed forces, and state institutions stand on one page, no adversary can prevail.
The events in Bannu form part of wider Marka-e-Haq commemorations being observed across various regions, highlighting themes of national cohesion, institutional coordination, and recognition of military achievements in the May 2025 conflict with India.
Meanwhile, in Peshawar, a separate central event marking Marka-e-Haq was also held where invitations had been extended to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government leadership. However, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and members of the provincial cabinet were notably absent from the ceremony despite being invited, a contrast that was observed alongside participation from federal and other institutional representatives.
