Marka-e-Haq Anniversary: Military Leadership Honors Fallen Heroes in Solemn Ceremony

A solemn and distinguished ceremony is being held today at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi to mark the completion of one year since the historic victory of Marka-e-Haq. The event includes a visit to the Martyrs’ Memorial, where senior military leaders and personnel paid tribute to the fallen heroes.

Chief of Defence Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, led the commemorative proceedings at the memorial, offering prayers and laying floral tributes in honor of the martyrs. He is scheduled to address attendees during the event, highlighting the sacrifices and dedication of the armed forces.

In a coordinated display of respect, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, and Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of Naval Staff, also laid floral wreaths at the Martyrs’ Memorial, honoring the courage and commitment of those who gave their lives in the line of duty.

The ceremony included a formal salute to the martyrs by impeccably disciplined formations of the Armed Forces, exemplifying the professionalism and unity of Pakistan’s military.

Earlier, on the occasion of the one-year anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, Field Marshal Asim Munir, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Baber Sidhu, and Admiral Naveed Ashraf extended congratulatory messages to the nation and the Armed Forces, recognizing the success as a testament to the preparedness, dedication, and professional expertise of Pakistan’s military.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), “With the steadfast support of the nation, the Armed Forces remain fully prepared to confront all internal and external challenges. The victory in Marka-e-Haq demonstrates the operational readiness, discipline, and professional competence of the Armed Forces, and has decisively reinforced public confidence in Pakistan’s military.”

The commemorative event underscores the enduring commitment of Pakistan’s armed forces to national security and the values of courage, sacrifice, and service exemplified by the martyrs of Marka-e-Haq.
