Security forces launched a swift intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Basima area of Washuk district, Balochistan, after credible reports confirmed the presence of terrorists linked to the Indian proxy network Fitna al-Hindustan, allegedly planning attacks on a nearby police station and banking facilities.
Acting on the intelligence input, security units moved to intercept and neutralize the threat, preventing the terrorists from executing their planned activities.
During the operation, contact was established with the terrorists, leading to a fierce exchange of fire. Security forces effectively engaged the group, resulting in the elimination of fourteen Indian-sponsored terrorists. Several others were injured in the engagement.
Weapons, vehicles, and improvised explosive devices being used by the terrorists were also destroyed on the spot during the operation.
In the exchange of fire, Lance Havildar Muhammad Abbas fought gallantly and was martyred after sustaining fatal injuries.
Following the operation, security forces initiated sanitization efforts in the area to clear any remaining terrorist presence and ensure full operational control.
Security officials reiterated that counterterror operations under the national framework, including Azm-e-Istehkam, will continue with full intensity to dismantle terrorist networks and eliminate foreign-sponsored threats operating within the country.
