Bannu Shock Twist: Two Families Publicly Disown Missing Relatives Over Links with Khawarij

Two separate families from the Mamhkhel area of Bannu have publicly announced their disassociation from close relatives who have been missing for approximately eight months and are reportedly linked  with Khawarij or anti-state activities. The declarations were made during formal press conferences held in the presence of local community representatives and media personnel.

In the first statement, Mr. Akhtar Ali Khan addressed the press alongside members of local committees, stating that his son, Javed, and a relative, Abdullah, have been missing for the past eight months without any contact or confirmed communication. He said that formal missing persons reports had already been filed with the relevant police stations soon after their disappearance.

Mr. Khan emphasized that the family has had no knowledge of the whereabouts or activities of the missing individuals since they left home. He further clarified that, should any credible evidence emerge linking them to unlawful or anti-state activities, the family formally disassociates itself from such actions and unequivocally rejects any form of illegal conduct.

He highlighted that the family belongs to a working and business-oriented background and has consistently maintained a lawful and peaceful standing. Mr. Khan also expressed full confidence in law enforcement institutions and assured complete cooperation with the government, police, peace committees, and local reconciliation bodies operating in the Mamhkhel area. He requested that the family not be subjected to undue pressure or harassment based on assumptions or unverified allegations, reiterating their readiness to assist authorities in every lawful manner.

In a separate but similar press briefing, Mr. Zubair, a resident of the same region, announced his family’s disassociation from his nephew, Abdullah, who has also reportedly been missing for approximately eight months. He stated that the individual had left home after completing education up to grade eight and had not maintained any contact since then.

Mr. Zubair reaffirmed that the family has no involvement in or connection with any anti-state activity attributed to the missing person. He categorically stated that if any allegations against his nephew are substantiated, the family fully distances itself from such conduct and does not support any unlawful or state-opposing actions.

He further appealed to government authorities and law enforcement agencies to ensure that his family is not subjected to unnecessary questioning, pressure, or inconvenience due to circumstances beyond their control. He reiterated the family’s identity as a hardworking and business-focused household committed to peace and lawful conduct.

Both families have independently expressed their willingness to continue cooperating with police, security agencies, and local peace committees in order to assist in any ongoing inquiries. They stressed their commitment to maintaining peace, supporting due legal processes, and cooperating fully with all relevant institutions.
