Bannu Police have successfully foiled an attack by Fitna al-Khawarij through a timely and effective response during a search and strike operation in the Shadiw area within the jurisdiction of Havaid Police Station.
During the operation, Fitna al-Khawarij elements launched sudden gunfire at the police team. Demonstrating exceptional courage, professional expertise, and swift operational response, the brave police personnel immediately engaged and effectively responded to the attack.
As a result of the exchange of fire, two Fitna al-Khawarij elements were injured, while their accomplices managed to escape from the scene while carrying the injured individuals with them. During their retreat, Fitna al-Khawarij elements abandoned a Kalashnikov rifle at the location.
Police teams recovered clear blood traces and fired cartridge cases from the site, indicating that Fitna al-Khawarij elements sustained injuries during the encounter. The recovered evidence is being secured as part of the ongoing investigation and operational follow-up.
Following the incident, the search operation in the area was expanded, and coordinated efforts are underway at multiple locations to trace and apprehend the fleeing Fitna al-Khawarij elements. Security personnel continue targeted actions to prevent any further attempts to disrupt peace and security in the area.
District Police Officer (DPO) Bannu, Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Furqan Bilal, appreciated the bravery, timely response, and professional capabilities demonstrated by the police personnel during the operation. In recognition of their courage and commitment, he announced cash rewards for the officers and personnel who participated in the successful action.
The DPO stated that Bannu Police possesses the capability, determination, and operational readiness to effectively counter all security threats. He reaffirmed that operations against Fitna al-Khawarij elements will continue with full resolve, professionalism, and coordination.
He further emphasized that protecting the lives and property of citizens remains the foremost responsibility of Bannu Police. He stated that there is no space for Fitna al-Khawarij elements in Bannu district and that all available resources will continue to be utilized to maintain peace and security.
