Security forces eliminated four terrorists belonging to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also referred to as Fitna al-Khwarij, during an intelligence-based operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan district, security sources said.
According to the sources, security forces had been closely monitoring the movement of the terrorists before successfully targeting them during the operation.
Weapons, ammunition and Afghan currency were recovered from the possession of the four terrorists following the operation.
The recovery of Afghan currency, along with weapons and ammunition, has drawn attention to the material found in the possession of the eliminated terrorists. However, further details about the amount of currency recovered, the identities of the terrorists and their suspected links to specific attacks were not immediately available.
The operation was part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision, aimed at disrupting terrorist networks and preventing attacks.
Dera Ismail Khan, located in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has faced persistent security challenges, with security forces and law enforcement agencies continuing operations against terrorist groups operating in the region.
Security forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism and establishing lasting peace in the country, the sources said.
