Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) has stated that Pakistan’s security forces, in close coordination with law enforcement and intelligence agencies, have significantly intensified nationwide counterterrorism operations, conducting more than 40,000 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) over the past year and preventing thousands of terrorist threats through coordinated action.
Addressing a press conference, the DG ISPR said that Pakistan’s security apparatus including the Pakistan Army, police, law enforcement agencies, and intelligence organizations conducted 40,348 intelligence-based operations during the past year as part of a comprehensive national effort to eliminate terrorism and strengthen internal security.
He stated that these operations resulted in the elimination of a large number of verified terrorists while significantly disrupting the operational capabilities and networks of terrorist organizations across the country. The intelligence-led campaign, he noted, has played a decisive role in preventing numerous planned attacks and enhancing the overall security environment.
Sharing an overview of the country’s security situation, the DG ISPR said that 3,145 terrorism-related incidents were reported nationwide during the same period. Of these, 1,971 incidents occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 1,148 in Balochistan, while the remaining 26 incidents were reported in other parts of the country.
He emphasized that the statistics reflect both the scale of the security challenge and the relentless efforts of Pakistan’s security institutions in confronting terrorism through intelligence-driven, coordinated, and proactive operations.
The DG ISPR highlighted that the success of these operations was made possible through close cooperation between the Pakistan Army, provincial police forces, intelligence agencies, and other law enforcement organizations, demonstrating a unified national approach against terrorism.
Reaffirming the state’s unwavering resolve, he stated that Pakistan’s security forces remain fully committed to eradicating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. He stressed that intelligence-based operations will continue without interruption to dismantle terrorist infrastructure, neutralize hostile networks, and safeguard the lives of citizens.
The DG ISPR concluded by reiterating that maintaining peace, protecting national stability, and ensuring the security of the people remain the foremost priorities of Pakistan’s security institutions. He affirmed that the campaign against terrorism will continue with full determination until the menace is completely eliminated.
