A fierce exchange of fire between security forces and India-backed terrorists in Balochistan’s Mastung district resulted in the elimination of seven assailants, while three security personnel embraced martyrdom, according to initial reports.

The clash took place in Khad Kucha area of Mastung during a sanitization operation, where security personnel confronted the terrorists of Fitna al-Hindustan. Several terrorists were also injured during the encounter.

Mastung has remained among the sensitive districts of Balochistan due to repeated attempts by terrorist groups to disrupt peace and target security installations, law enforcement personnel and civilians. Security forces have conducted multiple intelligence-based operations in the region to counter militant networks and prevent further attacks.

The latest incident comes amid continued efforts by security forces to dismantle armed groups operating in different parts of Balochistan. Officials have repeatedly stated that these operations are focused on eliminating terrorist infrastructure, disrupting their movement and preventing attacks before they are carried out.

Balochistan’s security environment has remained complex due to the province’s vast geography, difficult terrain and attempts by hostile elements to exploit remote areas for movement and concealment.

Further details regarding the identities of the attackers, the nature of the operation and the sequence of events are awaited as authorities are expected to issue an official statement.

As per security sources, troops are currently engaged with both small arms and heavy weapons. Besides, air support has also been called in, with gunship helicopters carrying out strikes. Additional reinforcements are moving toward the area to support the operation.
