A joint search and strike operation was carried out by police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in sensitive areas of Karak district as part of ongoing efforts to counter terrorist threats and prevent hostile elements from establishing footholds.
During the operation, security personnel conducted searches across Ghal Banda, Panjo Banda, Dargah Shaheedan and other areas considered sensitive due to their challenging terrain and strategic importance.
Teams carried out checks of houses, suspected locations and mountainous routes, while drone surveillance was also used to monitor difficult-to-access areas and strengthen operational effectiveness.
The operation was aimed at tracing terrorists, disrupting possible movement routes, and ensuring the protection of citizens by maintaining a strong security presence in vulnerable areas.
Security officials said such search and strike operations are part of a continued strategy to deny space to terrorist networks and criminal elements, particularly in areas where difficult geography can be exploited for concealment and movement.
Authorities further stated that actions against anti-peace elements will continue, while public cooperation remains vital in identifying suspicious activities and preventing potential threats.
The operation reflects continued efforts by law enforcement agencies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to strengthen security through intelligence-based actions, area domination and coordinated counterterrorism measures.
