Fitna al-Hindustan Opens Fire on Passenger Buses in Balochistan, Civilians Injured

Individuals identified as Fitna al-Hindustan opened indiscriminate fire on two passenger buses travelling between Sorab and Basima near Gadur Jori Cross at Sor Chul Kalghali on the Turbat–Panjgur–Quetta route, targeting civilian transport and disrupting the movement of passengers in the area.

The buses, Al-Maqbool, owned by Mir Maqbool Baloch, and Al-Naeem, owned by Naeem Mengal, came under heavy gunfire while carrying passengers. The attack caused extensive damage to both vehicles, with multiple bullets shattering windows and bursting tires, creating panic among those on board.

According to initial reports, two passengers, including a woman, sustained injuries in the attack. Rescue 1122 teams responded promptly and shifted the injured to Gadur for medical treatment. Necessary medical care is being provided, and their condition is being monitored.

Security forces reached the scene in full strength shortly after the incident, secured the area, and launched a search and clearance operation to trace those responsible. Additional security measures have also been implemented to ensure the safety of commuters travelling on the route.

Preliminary information indicates that local Baloch transporters may have been deliberately targeted by Fitna al-Hindustan, possibly as part of an extortion campaign involving ransom demands against transport operators. The attack appears to have been intended to intimidate local businesses and create fear among those providing essential transport services in the region.

The deliberate targeting of civilian passenger buses endangers innocent lives, disrupts public movement, and threatens peace and stability in Balochistan. Such attacks also seek to undermine economic activity and public confidence in the province’s transport network.

Authorities are collecting evidence from the scene, and investigations are underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident. Efforts are continuing to identify and apprehend those responsible, along with any facilitators or supporters connected to the attack.

The Government remains committed to ensuring the security of highways, protecting civilian transport, and maintaining uninterrupted connectivity across Balochistan. Security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue to take all necessary measures to safeguard passengers, transport operators, and critical communication routes throughout the province.
