Security forces personnel of 243 Wing were engaged in the establishment of a new security post in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan today, when terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij (TTP) allegedly carried out a drone attack on the working site.
As a result of this cowardly act, more than six security personnel sustained injuries and were promptly evacuated to nearby medical facilities, where they are receiving necessary treatment. In addition, three civilian labourers working at the site also sustained serious injuries in the attack.
Despite all efforts to save lives, one of the injured civilian labourers later succumbed to his wounds and embraced martyrdom. The martyred civilian has been identified as a resident of Upper Dir district.
The condition of the remaining injured security personnel and civilians is reported to be stable, and all possible medical assistance is being provided to ensure their speedy recovery.
Such reprehensible acts of terrorism targeting both security forces and innocent civilians reflect the brutality of terrorist elements operating under Fitna al-Khawarij, who continue to target development and security initiatives aimed at bringing peace and stability to the region.
Security forces remain resolute and committed to eliminating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and reaffirm their unwavering determination to bring the perpetrators of this heinous act to justice.
