In a major success for Pakistan’s ongoing counterterrorism efforts, security forces have achieved a significant operational breakthrough during a series of Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs) in the Palangzai area of North Waziristan. The operation, conducted on the basis of credible intelligence, dealt a severe blow to Fitna al-Khawarij and reaffirmed the state’s unwavering resolve to eliminate all threats to national security.
According to security sources, the operation resulted in the elimination of 45 Fitna al-Khawarij operatives, including the group’s prominent commander Khalid Raza alias Saleh, who was considered one of the most wanted figures within the organization. The government had previously announced a reward of PKR 4 million for information leading to his capture due to his alleged involvement in numerous acts of violence and terrorism.
The successful operation represents one of the most significant achievements in recent months against anti-state elements operating in the region. Security forces displayed exceptional professionalism, courage, and tactical expertise while engaging hostile elements in a challenging operational environment.
During the operation, forces recovered a substantial cache of weapons and ammunition from the possession of the eliminated operatives. The recovered arsenal included a 12.7mm rifle, fourteen SMG rifles, a rocket launcher, and a large quantity of ammunition and other military equipment. The seizure of these weapons has further disrupted the operational capabilities of the network and prevented their potential use in future attacks against civilians and security personnel.
Security officials noted that this latest success follows another major operation conducted on 7 June, during which 27 Fitna al-Khawarij operatives were eliminated. The consecutive operations underscore the effectiveness of intelligence-led counterterrorism strategies and the growing pressure being exerted on hostile networks operating within the country.
Despite the significant gains achieved so far, security forces remain fully engaged in the area. Clearance operations are currently underway to locate and neutralize any remaining hostile elements and to ensure that the region is completely secured. Security personnel continue to conduct systematic searches and intelligence-driven activities aimed at preventing any regrouping of terrorist networks.
The operation highlights the unwavering commitment of Pakistan’s security forces to safeguarding the nation against extremist violence and hostile proxies seeking to destabilize the country. Through sustained operational pressure, enhanced intelligence coordination, and the unwavering dedication of personnel on the ground, security forces continue to deny space to groups that threaten peace, stability, and national unity.
Security sources reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces remain fully determined to eliminate the menace posed by Indian-backed proxy groups, including Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan. Operations against such elements will continue until their operational infrastructure, leadership, and support networks are dismantled and the threat they pose is permanently neutralized.
The people of Pakistan stand united with their security forces in the collective struggle against terrorism and extremism. The sacrifices, bravery, and professionalism demonstrated by the armed forces continue to play a vital role in maintaining peace and protecting the country’s sovereignty.
This latest achievement in North Waziristan sends a clear message that no hostile element, regardless of its leadership, resources, or external support, will be allowed to undermine Pakistan’s security. The state remains resolute in its mission to secure a peaceful, stable, and prosperous future for all its citizens.
