In a continued effort to strengthen law and order and counter threats posed by terrorists, criminal elements, and anti-peace actors, Bannu Police, in coordination with security forces, carried out a comprehensive joint search and combing operation in various areas within the jurisdiction of Mandan Police Station.
The operation was conducted under the leadership of District Police Officer (DPO) Bannu, Yasir Afridi, and under the supervision of SP Rural Asad Khan. The coordinated action covered multiple localities, including Kingar, Fateh Khel, Pirdal Khel, and Garirh Shah Jahan, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure public safety and maintain security across the district.
According to official sources, security personnel conducted extensive searches of residences, hujras (traditional community gathering places), and other locations identified as suspicious or potentially linked to terrorist activities and their facilitators. The operation was aimed at disrupting criminal networks, enhancing intelligence collection, and preventing any potential threats to public peace and security.
During the operation, security teams established checkpoints at key entry and exit routes, where thorough screening and verification of individuals and vehicles were carried out. The enhanced security measures were designed to monitor movement within the area and identify persons of interest involved in unlawful activities.
As a result of the operation, several suspected individuals were taken into custody for questioning. Authorities confirmed that investigations are underway to determine any potential links to criminal or terrorist-related activities. In addition, various types of weapons were recovered during the searches, further contributing to efforts aimed at reducing the circulation of illegal arms in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, DPO Bannu Yasir Afridi reaffirmed the commitment of law enforcement agencies to maintaining peace and stability throughout the district. He stated that operations against terrorists, criminal elements, and forces seeking to undermine public order would continue without discrimination and in accordance with the law.
“The protection of citizens and the preservation of peace remain our highest priorities. No individual or group will be allowed to challenge the writ of the state or take the law into their own hands,” he emphasized.
Officials noted that the successful execution of the operation reflects the close coordination between police and security forces in addressing security challenges and enhancing public confidence. Such operations form part of a broader strategy aimed at preventing criminal activity, countering terrorism, and creating a secure environment for local communities.
Authorities further confirmed that similar intelligence-based and area-dominance operations will continue across Bannu District to strengthen security, deter unlawful activity, and ensure the safety and well-being of residents.
The police have urged members of the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies by reporting any suspicious activity, emphasizing that community participation remains a vital component of maintaining lasting peace and security.
