Over 82,000 Afghan Nationals Returned as Pakistan Continues Large-Scale Repatriation Operation

Pakistan has resumed the process of returning Afghan nationals following the Eid holidays, with authorities continuing the implementation of the government’s policy regarding undocumented foreign nationals, according to official sources.

The renewed phase of returns is being carried out from various parts of the country, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where transit arrangements and border facilitation measures are actively in operation. Officials stated that the process, which had temporarily slowed during the Eid holiday period, has now fully resumed under established administrative procedures.

According to official figures, more than 82,000 Afghan nationals have been returned from different regions of Pakistan since the ninth of Hoot. Of these, 1,208 individuals were repatriated through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa alone, reflecting ongoing movement through key transit corridors and border crossing points.

Authorities emphasized that the return process is being conducted in an organized manner through designated transit centers, where Afghan nationals are processed before being facilitated across border entry points into Afghanistan. The system, officials said, is designed to ensure procedural compliance while maintaining administrative coordination between relevant agencies.

Government representatives reiterated that the operation forms part of a broader national policy aimed at regulating the status of undocumented foreign nationals residing in Pakistan. The policy, they noted, is being implemented in phases to ensure orderly repatriation and to manage logistical requirements at transit and border facilities.

Officials further stated that coordination among relevant departments remains ongoing to streamline the return process and address operational challenges that may arise during large-scale movements. Security and administrative personnel have been deployed at key locations to manage flow, ensure documentation procedures, and support transportation arrangements.

Transit centers across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other regions continue to play a central role in facilitating the repatriation process, with authorities monitoring developments closely to ensure that operations proceed in accordance with established guidelines.

The repatriation initiative comes amid continued policy enforcement efforts targeting undocumented foreign nationals, with officials maintaining that the process will proceed in line with national regulations and administrative priorities.
