Pakistan’s armed forces and security forces have intensified large-scale counterterrorism operations across Balochistan following the horrific attack in Ziarat, eliminating 48 terrorists affiliated with the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) over the past 72 hours.
The operations are being conducted across multiple areas of the province as security forces move to dismantle terrorist networks involved in violence and prevent surviving members from regrouping or launching further attacks.
According to details of the ongoing operations, six BLA terrorists were eliminated in Mastung, while 26 were killed in the Shaban area of Quetta.
Security forces also eliminated two terrorists in Kalat and another two in Sibi. In addition, 12 more BLA terrorists were eliminated during operations in other remote areas of Balochistan, bringing the total number of terrorists eliminated during the 72-hour period to 48.
The concentration of operations across geographically dispersed areas indicates that security forces are pursuing terrorist networks beyond individual attack sites, targeting their hideouts and support infrastructure in different parts of the province.
The operations come in the aftermath of the deadly Ziarat attack, prompting an intensified security response aimed at preventing further attacks and disrupting the BLA’s operational capabilities.
Search and clearance operations are continuing in the affected areas, with security forces expanding efforts to locate and eliminate remaining terrorists and clear suspected hideouts and routes used by terrorist groups.
The continuing operations are expected to remain focused on intelligence-based action and area clearance to ensure that surviving terrorists are unable to regroup after the latest security crackdown.
The elimination of 48 BLA terrorists within 72 hours represents a major counterterrorism blow to the banned organization, while the continuation of search and clearance operations signals that security forces are maintaining pressure on its remaining networks across Balochistan.
