Security forces successfully recovered and safely neutralized a 20-kilogram improvised explosive device (IED) during an intelligence-based operation in the Turbat region, preventing what officials believe could have been a significant threat to public safety and security infrastructure.
According to security sources, the explosive device was discovered during a targeted clearance operation conducted in a sensitive area of Turbat. Upon identification, specialized bomb disposal personnel were immediately deployed to the site to assess and secure the threat.
The device, weighing approximately 20 kilograms, was carefully handled and subsequently rendered inoperative through controlled detonation procedures, ensuring that no civilian or operational damage occurred during the process.
Officials confirmed that timely intelligence and rapid response by security forces played a critical role in averting a potential catastrophe. The presence of such a high-capacity explosive device highlights ongoing security challenges in certain regions and underscores the continued need for vigilance and coordinated counter-terrorism efforts.
Security authorities have reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and stability in Balochistan, stating that intelligence-based operations will continue in order to dismantle networks involved in the planting and facilitation of explosive devices and other militant activities.
No casualties or collateral damage were reported during the operation.
