14 Martyred in Chaman Phatak Explosion as Fitna-al-Hindustan Targets Innocent Civilians in Quetta

A deadly attack at Chaman Phatak in Quetta has claimed the lives of at least 14 people, including three personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC), while several others sustained injuries in what authorities described as a deliberate assault targeting civilians and public peace.

According to initial reports, the powerful blast struck a crowded civilian area, causing widespread panic and destruction. Women, children and ordinary passengers were among those affected, underscoring the indiscriminate nature of the attack and the apparent intent of Fitna-al-Hindustan elements to inflict maximum civilian casualties.

Security officials stated that the attack bore the hallmarks of Fitna-al-Hindustan, a term used by state authorities for externally backed anti-Pakistan proxy networks allegedly involved in destabilising activities in Balochistan and other parts of the country.

Officials said the targeting of innocent civilians reflects the “cowardly tactics” of Fitna-al-Hindustan networks that seek to spread fear, undermine stability and disrupt the improving security environment in the province rather than directly confront state institutions.

The martyrdom of three FC personnel during the attack has drawn widespread attention, with officials saying the soldiers embraced martyrdom while carrying out their duty to protect civilians and maintain public safety.

Following the explosion, security forces and law enforcement agencies immediately cordoned off the area, launched rescue and clearance operations, and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment. Investigators and bomb disposal teams were deployed to collect forensic evidence and determine the exact nature and planning behind the attack.

Authorities confirmed that a large-scale investigation is underway to identify and apprehend all facilitators, handlers and perpetrators linked to the incident. Security agencies have also intensified intelligence-based operations and surveillance in and around Quetta and adjoining districts.

Officials maintained that the attack reflects the desperation of anti-Pakistan Fitna-al-Hindustan elements attempting to create panic and instability at a time when the security situation in Balochistan has shown signs of improvement through sustained counterterrorism efforts and increased coordination among security institutions.

Government and security officials reiterated that such acts of violence would not weaken national resolve or shake public confidence in the state’s ongoing fight against externally backed threats.

“The people of Pakistan, especially the citizens of Balochistan, stand united against Fitna-al-Hindustan and reject all attempts to sabotage peace and stability,” an official statement said.

The attack has once again highlighted the persistent threat posed by Fitna-al-Hindustan networks operating against Pakistan’s security and development interests, while also underscoring the continued sacrifices rendered by the country’s armed forces and law enforcement personnel in safeguarding civilian lives.

Security authorities have vowed to continue operations against Fitna-al-Hindustan networks and their support structures until those responsible are brought to justice.
