Security forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation in the Zamo sector of district Kurram, acting on credible information about the presence of terrorists linked to the Kazim group. During the operation, two terrorists were eliminated after an exchange, security sources confirmed.

Following the engagement, security forces immediately launched a comprehensive search and clearance operation in the surrounding area to ensure no remaining terrorists or facilitators were present. The region was brought fully under control during the operation.

Officials said the action is part of ongoing intelligence-based counterterrorism efforts aimed at dismantling terrorist hideouts and disrupting remaining networks operating in the border-adjacent tribal belt.

The latest operation in Kurram comes amid a broader escalation of counterterrorism activity across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In Dera Ismail Khan’s Kulachi tehsil, security forces recently conducted a precision intelligence-based operation in the Gharah Aslam area, resulting in the elimination of two terrorists belonging to Fitna al Khawarij.

Separately, in Bannu’s Fateh Khel area, security forces eliminated five terrorists in an operation targeting individuals linked to recent attacks on security personnel. The Fateh Khel region had earlier witnessed a deadly suicide attack on a police check post, where 15 police personnel were martyred after terrorists rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the facility.

Security sources also noted continued counterterrorism pressure in districts including Lakki Marwat and Bajaur, where repeated terrorist incidents have led to sustained clearance and intelligence-based operations.

Officials described the series of operations as part of an intensified, coordinated counterterrorism campaign aimed at degrading terrorist networks and restoring long-term stability across the region.
