Another attack targeting education has been reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district, where unidentified terrorists allegedly blew up a government girls high school, continuing a pattern of violence aimed at spreading fear and disrupting learning in the region.
The latest incident comes less than two weeks after terrorists, pursuing what officials and residents described as an anti-education agenda, attacked a government primary school in the Kot Gullan area of Tank district, destroying the building with explosives and creating panic among local communities.
According to sources, unidentified terrorists planted explosive material inside the building of Government Girls High School Mamand Khel in Bannu.
The explosives detonated with a powerful blast, causing severe destruction to the school building and damaging multiple sections of the structure.
Sources said the blast completely destroyed parts of the educational facility, leaving classrooms and other infrastructure in ruins.
No casualties or injuries were reported in the explosion, as the school was reportedly closed at the time of the attack.
Security forces and local law enforcement personnel reached the scene soon after the incident and cordoned off the area.
An investigation has been launched to determine the nature of the explosives used and to trace those involved in the attack.
Residents and local authorities strongly condemned the bombing, describing it as another attempt by terrorists to undermine education, particularly girls’ education, and destabilize the area through fear and intimidation.
The repeated targeting of schools in southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has raised serious concerns among parents and education officials, who fear such attacks could disrupt academic activities and deepen insecurity in already vulnerable communities.
