Operation ‘Ghazab-Lil-Haq’: Pakistan Forces Strike Khawarij Post in North Waziristan Along Afghan Border

Security forces of Pakistan Army have carried out a series of targeted operations along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border as part of the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign known as Operation “Ghazab-Lil-Haq.” The operation, currently underway in the border regions of North Waziristan District, is aimed at neutralizing militant threats and strengthening security along the frontier.

According to security sources, Pakistani forces conducted a precision strike against a militant position located across the border near the Shawal area, targeting a post allegedly associated with the Taliban and elements of the militant faction commonly referred to as Fitna-al-Khawarij. The targeted position was reportedly located in close proximity to the Pak-Afghan frontier and was believed to have been used to support cross-border militant activities.

Security officials stated that the strike successfully destroyed the militant post following a carefully planned operation. The action forms part of Pakistan’s broader effort to dismantle militant infrastructure operating in the border belt and to prevent infiltration and attacks targeting Pakistani territory.

The Shawal region, which lies along the rugged mountainous boundary between Pakistan and Afghanistan, has historically been considered a strategic corridor for militant groups seeking to move between the two countries. Security analysts note that the difficult terrain and porous nature of the border have long posed operational challenges for counter-terrorism efforts.

Officials emphasized that Operation “Ghazab-Lil-Haq” remains active and will continue until its strategic objectives are achieved. These objectives include dismantling militant networks, securing border regions, and preventing extremist groups from using cross-border safe havens to conduct attacks.

Security sources reiterated that Pakistan’s armed forces remain committed to eliminating militant threats and safeguarding national security. The operation is part of a broader campaign to maintain stability in the tribal districts and ensure that militant groups cannot exploit border areas to destabilize the region.

Authorities have not released further operational details, citing ongoing security considerations. However, officials indicated that counter-terrorism operations will persist as long as necessary to protect Pakistan’s territorial integrity and the safety of its citizens.
