Pakistan’s security forces killed two terrorists after they attempted to breach the Pak–Afghan border fence near the Khyber district, in what officials described as a deliberate act of aggression aimed at infiltrating into Pakistani territory.
According to security sources, the incident began when the terrorists cut through fortified sections of the border fencing along the Pak–Afghan frontier. The breach was immediately picked up by advanced surveillance systems and border patrol units operating in the area, prompting a rapid and coordinated response by Pakistan’s security forces.
Upon interception, the terrorists opened fire in an attempt to evade capture. Security officials said the quick reaction force effectively engaged the assailants, eliminating both during the exchange. Their identities are currently being verified, with initial assessments indicating their involvement with cross-border militant networks known for exploiting the rugged terrain of the Khyber region.
Authorities stressed that the attempt to damage and cross the border fence constituted a direct attack on Pakistan’s territorial integrity and reflected ongoing efforts by terrorist elements to penetrate the country’s borders using support and sanctuary across the frontier.
Following the encounter, the area was immediately sealed off and a thorough search operation was conducted to ensure no additional militants were present. Weapons, ammunition and other material were recovered from the terrorists, security sources confirmed.
Officials reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces remain fully vigilant and committed to safeguarding the nation’s borders against all threats. They added that the incident underscores both the critical importance of the border fencing project and the necessity of maintaining robust surveillance and rapid response capability along the Pak–Afghan border.
