Among those arrested was Shakir, identified as a dangerous operative of the banned terrorist group Fitna-al-Khawarij, whose capture represents a significant success in counterterrorism efforts. Officials stated that the apprehended terrorists were planning attacks at various locations to incite fear and panic among civilians.

In addition to the arrests, CTD teams recovered explosive devices from the detainees, preventing potential incidents that could have targeted public spaces and critical infrastructure. The operations highlight the proactive approach of Punjab’s law enforcement agencies in identifying and neutralizing threats before they materialize.

The CTD emphasized that these operations are part of a sustained strategy to dismantle terrorist networks across Punjab, targeting individuals involved in extremist activities, recruitment, and logistics. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens while taking decisive action against those who attempt to destabilize peace.

Law enforcement officials also called upon citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities, reinforcing the critical role of community cooperation in counterterrorism efforts. They highlighted that the combined approach of intelligence-based operations and community engagement remains central to disrupting the plans of extremist elements and maintaining lasting security.

The recent series of operations underscores the effectiveness, professionalism, and persistence of Punjab’s security agencies in combating terrorism.
