TTP Commander Among Five Killed in Kapisa Province Ambush

A commander of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and four of his associates were shot dead by unidentified assailants in Afghanistan’s Kapisa province, local sources reported on Saturday. The attack occurred in the village of Darm Darm in Tagab district, where gunmen opened fire on the group. The slain militant commander was identified as Mohammad Nazir Hanzala, also known as Ustad Haider, who was a senior member of the banned TTP and previously affiliated with the Afghan Taliban (TTA).

According to sources, the TTP commander and his men had reportedly been invited to a meal when they were ambushed and killed. The attackers fled the scene immediately after the incident. No group has claimed responsibility for the killings. The incident marks another in a string of mysterious attacks targeting members of the banned TTP across Afghanistan’s eastern and northern provinces in recent months.
