The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), in Quetta, has identified two militants involved in the suicide attack on the Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters in Model Town.

According to CTD sources, the terrorists were identified through NADRA’s fingerprint verification system, one belonging to Meri Adda and the other to Chaghi. The remains of other attackers killed in the incident have been sent to Punjab for forensic analysis.

Earlier, CTD had registered a case against the unidentified terrorists under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 and other relevant provisions of the law.

On the morning of September 30, a suicide bomber attempted to ram an explosives-laden Suzuki van into the FC Headquarters near Pishin Stop, Hali Road. Security forces quickly retaliated, engaging the assailants in a fierce exchange of fire. Five terrorists, including the suicide bomber, were killed—one before he could detonate his explosives.

Despite the swift response, the attack claimed 12 civilian lives and left 35 others injured.

Security sources noted that the suicide bombers were trained in camps operating from Afghanistan, with financial and logistical support traced to India’s intelligence agency RAW. For years, India has been backing groups such as the Majeed Brigade and BLA, and the banned TTP, all declared global terrorist outfits by both the United States and the United Kingdom.

The Majeed Brigade, notorious for targeting security forces, civilians, and infrastructure, has even trained young women for suicide missions, an alarming tactic aimed at fueling unrest and militancy in Balochistan.
