The recent statement issued by Khawarij commander, Kharaji Noor Wali, denouncing ongoing security operations in Bajaur as “Army oppression” has been widely dismissed by local residents and security sources, highlighting the failure of extremist propaganda in the region.
According to officials, on August 18, civilians were advised to remain cautious and avoid areas of ongoing operations, which target only Khawarij. Contrary to Noor Wali’s claims, the security forces are solely focused on neutralizing extremists while ensuring the safety of residents, their businesses, and children’s futures.
Security forces emphasized that Bajaur’s true protectors are the local inhabitants, while foreign-backed Khawarij falsely present themselves as guardians of the region. In reality, these extremists remain the greatest threat to the community, with families affected by clashes suffering the consequences of Khawarij violence rather than government action.
Officials further stated that public support is the cornerstone of lasting peace in Bajaur, representing the greatest obstacle to Khawarij influence. The recent statement by Noor Wali reflects the extremists’ defeat and the collapse of their narrative at the local level.
Bajaur’s residents have recognized the true face of the Khawarij and rejected their propaganda. The future of Bajaur is linked to peace, development, and prosperity, not bloodshed and terror. Any return of extremists would only mean destroyed markets, ruined homes, and innocent lives lost, a local said. The statement serves as a reminder that intelligence-led operations combined with community support continue to weaken extremist networks and safeguard the region’s path to stability and growth.
