In a highly alarming development, the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), declared by the state as Fitna al-Khawarij, has released a series of photos displaying bombs, explosives, and quad-copters (drones), sparking serious concern among defence analysts and counter-terrorism experts.
According to initial evaluations, the release appears to be both a signal of upgraded terrorist capabilities and a psychological tactic to instil fear and project operational strength.
Experts believe the visuals are far from accidental. In the images, khawarij are seen with modern explosives and drones, suggesting the group is not only rearming but adapting to modern tactics.
A senior intelligence official commented:
“This is a calculated show of capability, they want to communicate that they’re no longer just relying on IEDs and ambushes. Drones mean targeted strikes, remote warfare, and a new level of threat.”
The threat isn’t theoretical. Just days ago, the TTP carried out a drone attack near a school in North Waziristan, killing one student and injuring five others, two of them critically.
This strike followed threats to schoolteachers, warning them to shut down schools or face aerial attacks, highlighting a chilling new chapter in khawarij’s war on education and civil life.
Earlier intelligence reports had revealed that India supplied drones to khawarij, raising serious concerns about cross-border destabilisation efforts and external support for anti-Pakistan terrorists.
While the introduction of drone warfare by khawarij marks a disturbing escalation, analysts stress that this does not shake Pakistan’s resolve.
Despite this technological upgrade in terrorist arsenals, Pakistan’s security apparatus remains unfazed. Armed Forces and intelligence agencies, backed by unwavering public support, are committed to eliminating the menace of terrorism in all its forms.
“The Khawarij know this well, no matter what tools they acquire, they cannot outmatch the resolve of a united nation,” a defence source said. “The Pakistani state will dismantle every last remnant of terrorism with full force and public support.”
