Iranian security forces have dismantled a clandestine Israeli drone-manufacturing facility operating in the heart of Tehran, seizing a large cache of explosives and detaining multiple foreign agents in what authorities described as a major counterintelligence breakthrough, according to Iranian state media. The covert facility, reportedly located within a three-story building, was allegedly established by Israeli intelligence operatives to produce and assemble unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for undisclosed operations inside Iran. Security officials confiscated 200 kilograms of high-grade explosive material from the site, along with a stockpile of drone parts, tools, and technical components.
In a coordinated security sweep, Iranian intelligence arrested two individuals believed to be directly involved in the drone production network. A total of 23 fully or partially assembled drones were recovered, in addition to sensitive mechanical components intended for military-grade UAVs.
“This was a sophisticated and dangerous infiltration,” state media quoted unnamed intelligence sources as saying. “The discovery of this facility is part of a broader campaign to dismantle Israeli espionage infrastructure operating on Iranian soil.”
The developments follow the arrest of five Israeli-linked agents two days ago in connection with an alleged drone smuggling ring. Iranian authorities now believe both incidents are part of a wider covert network aimed at destabilizing national security through technological and sabotage operations.
In a separate case, Iranian judicial authorities confirmed the execution of a convicted Israeli spy earlier today. The individual, whose identity has not been disclosed, had reportedly been found guilty of espionage and collaboration with hostile intelligence services following a closed military tribunal.
Iranian officials have vowed to intensify surveillance and counter-espionage operations in response to what they describe as an escalation in foreign subversion tactics.
“The Islamic Republic will respond decisively to any form of infiltration, espionage, or sabotage orchestrated by hostile regimes,” a senior official was quoted as saying. “The protection of our national security remains an absolute priority.”
